But What if You Could?

Often in this life it isn’t really about what opportunities present themselves to us or our circumstances and conditions, but rather our consideration of what is possible for us. If our view concerning some potential achievement is that it is something that is not possible for us, then that achievement becomes impossible for us. If an opportunity to pursue something important to us did present itself, we would surely miss it. Why? Because we have already predetermined the outcome. Much of what is possible in this life escapes us only because of our negative or limited mindset that foolishly concludes that good things only happen to other people. Who told us that our dreams were something we could not enjoy? Who talked us into this idea that we could not have what we wanted in this life; that we could not change; that the things we value the most were only possible for a select few, highly favored or lucky individuals? Just the mere consideration opens doors that would not have opened for us otherwise. The real question isn’t what appears possible. The question is, but what if we could?

All achievements begin with some consideration of the possibility. A human being able to fly in an airplane was once an impossibility until a couple of guys proved otherwise. Our world is chock full of things someone pursued until it became a reality. However, that reality would not exist if the people involved continued to believe it was not possible. We often limit our results by the poverty of our expectations. Further, we affix ourselves to this limited concept concerning what we can and cannot do. We allow the current circumstances to inform our future circumstances. We think what is present now must be what it will always be. It is being stuck in a spin cycle of error. The error being our limited mindset. Instead of thinking about what we could do, we spend our days obsessing over what we “cannot” do. The apparent reality that says we cannot do something or the naysayers telling us we cannot do something are both equally false. In a world full of possibility, we are the problem. When our lives are not what we want them to be or when we find ourselves living a life we do not enjoy, it is our fault, not God or the universe or anything else that removes the onus from us onto to something else. What is possible for one human being is possible for all human beings. The limiting factor is ourselves. We have believed a lie. But, what if we could do that thing we have not yet found a way to do?

Our minds are delicate, malleable creations responding to the decisions we make for ourselves. Our minds do not act independently of us. There are no preset limitations built into them. We have the privilege to choose for ourselves. Have you ever had a situation or circumstance plague you to the point of exasperation? Then suddenly you rise up in your mind and say, enough is enough. And just like that you find your long sought solution. What happened? You made a decision that you needed to make. You chose another course instead of languishing in what seemed like the only choice. Accordingly, you don’t need austere circumstances to finally awaken you from your lethargy. You can change anything. You can have what you desire. You can fulfill those dreams that are in your heart. You just need to change your mind. You need to break free from those limited mindsets. We only get stuck in this life when we passively accept what is over the potential of what can be. Things can be healed, restored, changed or improved ad infinitum. But, nothing will change for us as long as we remain stuck in those wrong ideas we have accepted as true. We have to replace wrong beliefs with right beliefs. We have to patiently learn how to put different ideas into our minds and hearts. And the time to start is now. How long do you want to wait before living your best life? How long are you willing to “live” with the things you do not want? There is a world of possibility open to you. But, what if you could?

All the people who have ever traversed this Earth have gone through the same thing. People only know what they know until someone teaches them a better way. This is a better way. Rid yourself of this insistence on how things can be and open yourself to possibility. Let’s face it, the old work hard thing doesn’t always solve the problem. The tired notion that if you keep plugging along day by day something is going to change or your ship will finally come in etc., is the problem. You are waiting for something outside yourself to fix something inside yourself. You fix what is inside yourself by changing what you are feeding your mind. You have to decide what you want and pursue it instead of fixating on what you do not want. It is your life, my friends, and it is up to you to choose another path. Why not choose something you want? But, what if you could?
