If you’ve made it this far, you’re serious about moving to your next level. I’ll warn you up front, put aside at least half an hour to an hour to complete the questionnaire for your first focus area. If you’ve never considered some of these kinds of questions, you may want to put more time aside. Once that initial piece is done however, the rest of the work is basically a few minutes per day of listening.

If you’re just starting, my suggestion is to just get through the first series of questions quickly, produce your first soundtrack and start listening. It’s not going to be perfect. The way the process works is that you keep coming back and revising your recordings as you layer new thinking into your mindset and as you find parts of your soundtracks that you want to adjust. You’ll revise your recordings anyhow, as you move through higher and higher levels of skill, competition, conditioning and performance.

The NLM or Next Level Mindset process has 2 parts. The first part is the questionnaire. It’s designed to do 2 things.

To acquire the information we need to build a recording that fits you specifically. Your recording will only work for you. It won’t work for anyone else. It will work exceptionally well for you, but not for anyone else. It will cause you to really think about why you’re involved in your sport and what you ultimately want to accomplish. As well, it will cause you to build a plan that will evolve as you move through level after level of performance in training and competition.

The second part of the NLM process is simply listening to your soundtracks. Those soundtracks are designed to speak to you in a very specific way. Here are just a few of the key techniques we use:

First, no negatives. Nothing in the soundtrack tells you not to do something. The mind doesn’t really work well with not doing things. It will speak to you as if everything you plan to do is happening now. The mind does not do well with past and future, but works remarkably well with seeing things as if they are occurring now.

The soundtrack will compress your highest motivations into a small chunk of time, creating a powerful inoculation against procrastination, distractions and mental limits. The conversation cascades down from what is most important to you, through your priorities, your objectives and goals for your most key current priorities, down to your activities, habits, and beliefs so that each layer promotes the one that follows it.

We have 25 modalities that we employ including neural enhancement, identity construction and so forth. If you want to learn more you can use our Our Science link to provide some articles that will help with that.

This is not a light undertaking initially. The questionnaire will take most people somewhere between a half an hour and two hours to complete the first time. After that, listening to the recordings will take 10 to 15 minutes a day and can be done while you’re engaged in almost any routine activity. The best time to listen however, is right when you wake up before your day starts. After 30 years of experimenting, this has been our finding.

Don’t worry about getting the recording perfect the first time. You won’t. You will however, continue to improve your recordings as you listen to them more, and you will change them constantly as you progress through higher and higher levels of performance. Our suggestion is that you complete the first shot at filling out the questionnaire quickly, produce your recording and start listening. As you listen, you’ll hear the tweaks and adjustments you wish to make and doing so is pretty easy and takes very little time.

Just a couple of tips. The next buttons at the bottom of the pages of the questionnaires, do not save your entries. You can use the progress bar at the top of each form to move to any page. The final page of any of the forms is the save page. You can go to the bottom of the save page and save your entries there. Once you’ve clicked the Save Your Entries button, you’ll end up on a page with a red button on it. Simply click the red button and it will take you to the next step in the process. There is also a sidebar menu on each page of the form. You can navigate around the forms using this menu and the menu is laid out in the same order as the process. If you are not sure where you are in the process, you can always click on the review link for the process you are in. This will bring up a report that shows all the entries you’ve made. You can simply click the edit link for the areas that have not been filled in to continue on with the process.

There are options for each of the processes. They are listed in the OPTIONS portion of the sidebar menu and are not required to produce your soundtracks. Not completing any portion of the required entries will end up producing an error when you try to produce a soundtrack, so please take the time to complete all of the required questions.

When you produce a soundtrack, a secondary tab will open and it will appear blank for a few minutes. You can close that tab or let the process run. When the process has completed, you’ll receive an email with a link to your soundtrack. If you let the process run without closing the tab it’s running in, the finished script, along with an audio player and a download button will appear. You can access your soundtrack from one of those two options or from the Listen option in the Soundtracks menu.

So there. That should get you started. Have fun. Things are getting ready to change and we’re excited to be a part of that change for you. Thanks.
